ANGELITO COLLECTION
The LeeLoobird ANGELITO Collection is a small family of three pieces ~ necklace, bracelet, and earrings ~ each carrying the little-angel medallion on the front and the private inscription ‘You & Your Loved Ones Are Protected’ on the back. Each piece is worked in 22k gold vermeil over recycled sterling silver 925, blessed in our Bali atelier, and available in both gold and silver finishes. Designed as a small wearable form of the universal protective presence, the ANGELITO Collection carries the recognition that the woman and the people she loves are held.
Every culture has a word for the small protective presence we carry without seeing. The Italians call it angelo custode. The Brazilians, anjo da guarda. In Indonesia, malaikat pelindung. In Spanish, angelito ~ little angel.
Whatever the language, the meaning is the same. There is something close to you that wishes you well. You did not earn it. It does not require belief. It is simply there, walking quietly alongside the days you have to walk through.
We chose angelito because the word is tender across languages. The diminutive ~ ‘little’ ~ is the part that mattered. The presence is not large or distant. It is small, near, attached. The radiance of a child, not the grandeur of a god. The unconditional kind.
The ANGELITO Collection is a small family of three pieces ~ necklace, bracelet, and earrings ~ each carrying the same little angel on the front and the same private words engraved on the back: You & Your Loved Ones Are Protected. The front is public. The words are private. Only the wearer knows what is written against her skin. This is the design’s cleverest detail. The wearer walks through the day with the sign of the watching-over visible to the world, and the promise itself held silently against her body.
SANDRINE’S OWN WORDS
ANGELITO. A little angel close to the heart. The inscription on her back ~ you and your loved ones are protected. A small guardian for those we carry and for the woman who has been the guardian herself. Strength and softness whispering together. Blessed in Bali.
~ Sandrine, LeeLoobird
Sandrine names two things that are worth understanding together.
The first is that the ANGELITO Collection is designed as a small guardian ~ a protective presence made portable, made wearable, made intimate. The medallion is small enough to be private, large enough to be felt. The angel image is deliberately gentle. Not a warrior angel. Not a martial angel. A little angel, in the sense of the Spanish diminutive, closer to the tenderness of childhood than the grandeur of doctrine.
The second is the phrase Sandrine keeps returning to across her design work: strength and softness whispering together. This is the specific tonal register the ANGELITO Collection is designed to hold. The strength of knowing that you and your people are protected. The softness of knowing that the protection does not need to shout, does not need to prove itself, does not need to be earned. Both at once. On the front of the piece, gently. On the back, quietly.
The collection carries a second dimension worth naming. The inscription is you and your loved ones are protected, not you are protected. The plural is deliberate. The piece is designed for the woman who carries others ~ the mother, the sister, the friend who answers at three in the morning, the daughter who has begun to care for her parents. The protection the ANGELITO offers is not only for her own body. It is for the small circle she holds. The reminder is that both she and the ones she loves are held together.
THE MEDALLION AT THE HEART ~ A CROSS-CULTURAL PRACTICE

The ANGELITO Collection belongs to an older lineage. Nearly every religious and spiritual tradition on earth has some version of the small sacred medallion worn close to the body.
Catholic Christians wear the Miraculous Medal, a small oval pendant carrying the image of Mary, held close to the heart for protection. The medal was designed in 1830 after a series of visions reported by the French nun Catherine Labouré, and it has been worn by hundreds of millions of Catholics since ~ making it one of the most-worn medallions in human history.
The Jewish tradition has the chai pendant, the Hebrew letters for ‘life,’ worn at the throat or chest as an affirmation of blessing.
In Islamic practice, the ta’wiz carries verses of protection close to the body ~ small pieces of paper inscribed with Qur’anic verses, sometimes enclosed in a small metal case worn around the neck.
In Hindu tradition, the rudraksha seed hung on a cord serves the same function ~ a small sacred object carried at the chest, associated with the god Shiva and worn for spiritual protection.
Across Latin America, small silver medallions carried since childhood hold a saint’s image and the wearer’s identity together ~ often given at baptism, and worn for a lifetime.
The forms differ across the world. The instinct is universal: hang a small sacred thing at the chest, near the heart, and let it be seen. Not for others’ reassurance. For the wearer’s own.
The ANGELITO Collection carries this instinct without carrying any single tradition’s framing. The little-angel imagery is universal ~ every spiritual tradition has a word for the protective presence. LeeLoobird honours the recognition without claiming any one tradition’s doctrine. The wearer supplies her own meaning. Whatever protective presence she names ~ or does not name ~ arrives with the medallion.
SAINT-EXUPÉRY ~ INVISIBLE TO THE EYE
The French writer and pilot Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (1900-1944) wrote a small book in 1943 called Le Petit Prince ~ The Little Prince ~ that has since been translated into more than four hundred languages, making it one of the most-read literary works of the twentieth century. Near the middle of the book, the fox teaches the little prince a small secret about what matters. His most-quoted line reads:
It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.
~ Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Le Petit Prince (1943)
The ANGELITO Collection carries this small teaching at the body. The angel on the front of the medallion is what the eye sees. The inscription on the back ~ You & Your Loved Ones Are Protected ~ is what the heart carries. What the wearer sees in the mirror is a small, beautifully worked medallion. What she knows underneath the metal is the promise pressing lightly against her skin. The eye and the heart hold different halves of the same piece.
Saint-Exupéry was writing in a moment of enormous danger. Le Petit Prince was published in New York in April 1943, during the second world war, while the author was in exile. A year later, in July 1944, Saint-Exupéry flew a reconnaissance mission from Corsica and did not return. The little book he left behind became, among other things, a small manual for how to carry meaning through danger. The ANGELITO Collection carries a similar small idea. What is essential ~ that the woman and the people she loves are held ~ does not need to be visible. It only needs to be known. The medallion is the small daily reminder that the essential is already there, whether or not the eye can see it.
BARONG ~ THE VISIBLE PROTECTOR IN BALI
In Bali, there is a tradition of the visible protector. The Barong is one of the most important sacred figures in Balinese Hindu cosmology ~ a lion-like protective spirit who defends villages against negative forces. Unlike many spiritual figures kept private in temples, Barong is a visible protector. His image appears everywhere on the island: carved into temple gates, danced in the Barong dance performed by masked players in village courtyards, painted at the entrance of homes, kept as small statues on household shrines.
Barong is protection made public. The community sees him and remembers, together, that they are held.
The ANGELITO Collection is not Barong. It is a much smaller, gentler cousin. But it carries the same principle. The protective presence is visible. The woman wearing the medallion carries her small angel where the world can see it, and the seeing is part of the practice. Not for others’ reassurance. For her own. There is a specific comfort in walking into the day with the sign of the watching-over already in plain view.
The Balinese have a phrase for the daily practice of remembering that we are held: Tri Hita Karana ~ the three sources of well-being. It teaches that a life goes well when three relationships are in harmony: the relationship with the divine (parhyangan), the relationship with other people (pawongan), and the relationship with the natural world (palemahan). The Barong watches over all three. The ANGELITO Collection, in its small wearable way, carries a similar architecture at the body ~ the woman, her loved ones, and the small sacred sign that holds the promise between them.
PELINGGIH PENUNGGUN KARANG ~ THE HOUSEHOLD GUARDIAN
Every Balinese home has a pelinggih penunggun karang ~ a small shrine dedicated to the guardian spirits of the land where the home stands. Each morning, a tiny offering is placed there: a folded palm leaf, a few flowers, a stick of incense. The guardians are not separate from the family. They live alongside the family. They are part of how the home holds its people.
The ANGELITO Collection carries the same idea, made portable. A small guardian at the throat, or the wrist, or the ear, where the pulse lives and the day happens. Not separate from the woman. Part of how she holds herself, and the ones she loves.
In our workshop outside Ubud, the artisans who make the ANGELITO pieces have their own pelinggih penunggun karang at the entrance to the atelier. Before the first medallion is struck, before the first chain is soldered, before the first inscription is stamped on the back, a small offering has been placed. The guardian spirits of the workshop have been thanked. The day has been asked to hold what is being made. This is the daily practice of the culture in which every ANGELITO piece is produced.
Sandrine, our founder, is French by birth. She grew up in a culture where the protective medallion at the chest carries centuries of Catholic and pre-Catholic history. She now lives in Bali, in a culture where the household guardian is set on its shrine each morning without fail. The ANGELITO Collection sits in the small bridge between the two ~ the European medallion tradition met with the Balinese household-guardian practice, held together by one small angel that speaks in both languages.
THE THREE PIECES ~ NECKLACE, BRACELET, EARRINGS

The ANGELITO Collection is a family of three pieces, each carrying the same little-angel medallion in a different position on the wearer’s body. Each piece can be worn alone. Two pieces layer beautifully. The full three-piece family becomes a small worn architecture of protection ~ at the heart, at the wrist, at the ears.
ANGELITO Necklace ~ The ANGELITO Necklace is the hero of the collection ~ a substantial 22k gold vermeil medallion with rays radiating from the little-angel figure, hung on a delicate chain that rests at the sternum. On the back, the private inscription: You & Your Loved Ones Are Protected. Available in 22k gold plated over recycled sterling silver 925, and in full sterling silver 925. Rp 2,990,000. The medallion sits at the heart, where the older visible-protector tradition placed it ~ where the wearer feels its weight each time she reaches for a cup or bends forward to listen. The most-given piece of the collection, and often the piece a woman chooses for herself first.
ANGELITO Bracelet ~ The ANGELITO Bracelet is the pulse-side of the collection ~ two small rectangular medallions on a delicate chain, one carrying the words You & Your Loved and the other Ones Are Protected, split across the two pieces so the full sentence lives at the wrist. Available in gold vermeil and full sterling silver 925 finishes, and the two-tone version pictured combines both metals on the same bracelet. Rp 2,950,000. The bracelet adjusts between 16 and 18 centimetres, generous enough to fall softly at the wrist, snug enough not to wander. Worn alone, the medallions catch the light each time the wrist turns. Worn stacked with other pieces, they settle into the layering, half-hidden, half-visible.
ANGELITO Earrings ~ The ANGELITO Earrings are the smallest and most daily piece of the collection ~ small rectangular drop earrings in 22k gold vermeil and sterling silver 925, each carrying half of the same protective inscription across the two ears. You & your loved at one ear. Ones are protected at the other. Rp 1,990,000. The most-worn ANGELITO for the woman who wants the protective sign near her thoughts and her voice ~ close to the ear, close to what she is hearing and saying through the day. Small enough for daily wear, considered enough for a small dinner.
LAYERING THE COLLECTION
The ANGELITO Collection is designed to be layered, and there is no wrong way to do it. But here are a few small suggestions from our atelier for the wearer building her own daily grammar of protection.
The small daily kit. The ANGELITO Earrings alone, worn every day, become the smallest possible entry point to the collection. Small enough to be forgotten, present enough to be reached for when the wearer needs to remember she is held. Many of our wearers begin here.
The morning pairing. The ANGELITO Necklace with the ANGELITO Earrings, worn together, form a small vertical protection up the front of the body ~ the medallion at the heart, the small drop at the ears. The wearer catches both in the same mirror, in the same small morning glance. Two small guardians, placed together.
The full three-part practice. The necklace, bracelet, and earrings worn together give the wearer the protective sign at three of the most-glanced-at positions of the daily body ~ heart, wrist, ears. The pieces share design language (little angel, rectangular medallion, engraved back) so they are read together as a family rather than as three separate messages. This is the closest thing the ANGELITO Collection has to a full daily worn liturgy of protection.
The ANGELITO Collection layers beautifully with our Within Me Collection and MERCI Collection ~ the three form a small worn interior sentence: within me, thank you, we are protected. Some of our wearers own all three collection stories at once. Explore the full necklaces collection for further layering options.
CARE ~ KEEPING THE COLLECTION AT ITS BEST

The ANGELITO Collection is designed for real daily wear. The 22k gold vermeil is a serious professional standard ~ three microns of gold plated over solid recycled sterling silver 925, protected by a nano coating that helps hold the finish through years of use. The sterling silver 925 finish variants develop a natural patina over time that most wearers actually come to love ~ if the patina ever wants to be lifted, a soft polishing cloth returns the surface to brightness.
A few small notes to keep the collection at its best. Remove pieces before showering, before entering the sea, and before applying perfumes or heavy body oils ~ the chemistry of chlorine, salt water, and concentrated fragrance is not friendly to any vermeil finish over time. Store each piece in its own soft pouch so the medallions do not knock against each other in a shared drawer. Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth. Do not use ultrasonic cleaners. The inscription on the back will not fade with normal wear.
Each piece of the ANGELITO Collection arrives in our small LeeLoobird pouch, ready to be worn or ready to be given. If the collection is a gift ~ and much of it is, because the promise of protection is a natural thing to want to give to someone loved ~ we recommend a small handwritten note tucked inside the pouch. The receiver will not need the collection explained. She will feel it before she reads it.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the ANGELITO Collection?
The ANGELITO Collection is a family of three pieces ~ necklace, bracelet, and earrings ~ each carrying a small angel medallion on the front and the private inscription You & Your Loved Ones Are Protected on the back. Each piece is worked in 22k gold vermeil (three microns of gold over recycled sterling silver 925) or in full sterling silver 925, and blessed in our Bali atelier.
Why is it called ANGELITO?
Angelito is the Spanish word for little angel. Sandrine chose the diminutive because the protective presence the collection is designed to honour is small, near, attached ~ the radiance of a child rather than the grandeur of a god. The unconditional kind.
What is inscribed on the back of the pieces?
You & Your Loved Ones Are Protected. The inscription faces inward, against the skin. Only the wearer knows it is there. It is intended as a private reminder, not a public statement. On the bracelet and earrings, the sentence is split across two medallions so the full phrase lives across both pieces.
Is the ANGELITO Collection religious?
No. The pieces are intentionally designed to transcend religious boundaries. The little-angel imagery is universal ~ nearly every spiritual tradition has a word for the protective presence (angelo custode, malaikat pelindung, guardian angel, mu’aqqibat, malach). LeeLoobird honours the recognition without claiming any one tradition’s doctrine. The wearer supplies her own meaning.
Can I mix gold and silver pieces from the collection?
Yes ~ the collection is designed to be mixed. Some wearers own the whole collection in gold vermeil for a warmer palette. Some own the whole collection in sterling silver for a cooler palette. The bracelet is even produced in a two-tone version that combines both finishes on one piece. All are correct. The little angel is the same regardless of the metal.
Is the ANGELITO Collection a good gift?
Yes ~ it is one of our most-given collections. Frequently gifted between mothers and daughters, between sisters, between best friends, or between partners as a wearable version of a vow. The pieces arrive in our LeeLoobird pouch, ready to be given with a small handwritten note. Because the inscription is on the back, the giver can be sure the recipient will discover it as a small private moment ~ not something announced, but something found.
What is a pelinggih penunggun karang?
In Balinese Hindu tradition, the pelinggih penunggun karang is the small household shrine dedicated to the guardian spirits of the land where the home stands. Each morning, a small offering is placed at the shrine. The ANGELITO Collection borrows from this tradition ~ a protective presence carried with the woman, rather than rooted to a place.
Who is Barong?
Barong is a lion-like protective spirit in Balinese Hindu cosmology ~ a visible protector who defends villages against negative forces. His image appears throughout Bali on temple gates, in courtyard dances, at home entrances. Barong is protection made public. The ANGELITO Collection borrows the same idea in a much smaller and gentler form ~ a wearable, visible sign of the protective presence.
How should I care for the pieces?
Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners and harsh chemicals. Remove before showering, swimming, and applying perfume. Store in the pouch each piece arrived in. With normal daily wear and light care, the vermeil holds up beautifully for years, and the engraved back does not fade.
